Position Summary

The Automotive Technician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing Mercedes-Benz vehicles while meeting dealership productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction standards.

This position requires a strong commitment to quality workmanship, efficiency, and continuous professional development while ensuring every vehicle is repaired correctly the first time.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Mercedes-Benz vehicles in accordance with factory standards.
• Accurately diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle concerns.
• Complete warranty and customer-pay repairs efficiently and correctly.
• Perform multi-point inspections and identify recommended maintenance or repair needs.
• Document repair findings and technician notes clearly and accurately.
• Maintain productivity while achieving quality and efficiency goals.
• Utilize Mercedes-Benz diagnostic equipment and service information.
• Follow all safety procedures and dealership policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors, Parts Department personnel, and fellow technicians to ensure an exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous dealership technician experience
• Mercedes-Benz experience preferred
• Mercedes-Benz Star Certification is a plus
• ASE Certifications are a plus
• Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to efficiently perform maintenance and major repairs
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
• Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
• Previous professional automotive repair experience
• Ability to diagnose and repair vehicles independently
• Own professional hand tools (specialty tools provided by dealership where applicable)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced shop environment
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to use digital inspection and repair systems

Compensation

Expected Annual Earnings: $80,000–$200,000+

Compensation is based on a competitive flat-rate pay plan. In accordance with California law, minimum wage is paid for applicable non-productive duties and rest periods. Top-performing technicians regularly exceed the advertised earning range based on productivity, efficiency, certifications, and overall performance.
